Artist Statement:
Anna Gaskell's portraiture is emblematic of the twinning/mirroring that comes with adolescence — we become those that we see — and her images are charged with the same sort of eroticism that I am interested in. While her imagery is loaded with the burdens of childhood, mine is focused on what comes after; the anger and aggression of post-adolescent repression.
